Since June 2022, this 240 square meter Breton house, located on a 769 square meter plot, looking for a buyer. In vain. The municipality of Langueux, near Saint-Brieuc, in Côtes-d’Armor (22), has just decided on September 10 to lower its sale price once again, after having reduced it for the first time in April 2023, from 400,000 euros to 280,000 euros. Now, the property is offered at a price of 200,000 euros. It must be said that the property is more than dilapidated.

«The estate agents had overvalued the property in relation to the work to be carried out. Buyers visited it and realised that the work was more extensive than expected.“, the town hall services explain to Le Figaro. And yet, the house of the administrator of the Société des tuileries et briqueteries de Saint-Ilan is full of charm with its brick turret which houses a spiral staircase and its view of the bay of Saint-Brieuc. “Exceptional product with very strong potential for this building from the 1900s, entirely to be restored; built with noble materials: granite, bricks, tiles and artificial stones from Saint-Ilan“, it is written in the announcement. But its undeniable cachet is not enough to seduce buyers. We decided to lower the price to find a buyer as quickly as possible. The property has been for sale for over two years and it continues to deteriorate“, worry the city hall services.

Work estimated at 650,000 euros

The Public Finance Inspector estimates it at €140,000 but the City is not prepared to revise its price so radically, according to information from West France . The house is indeed dilapidated, having been abandoned for several years. It would cost 650,000 euros of work to restore it. The offers that have been made are more like 230,000 euros or 250,000 euros. The new sale price is close to these offers. The City has owned the premises since 1980 but it wants to free itself of the property, which has become too heavy a burden to bear.
