While bathing the body, traces of wounds were found on the neck, and the wife was arrested

Police have arrested a wife for allegedly killing her estranged husband in Begamganj in Noakhali. He will be handed over to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Noakhali tomorrow morning, Tuesday (December 24).

Earlier, on Sunday (December 22), this incident took place at the house of Chidik Chokida of Panshtala village in Ward No. 7 of Mirurishpur Union in Begumganj upazila of the district.

The late Ismail Hussein (33 years old) is the son of Saeed Al-Haq from the same village. He was a Saudi expatriate.

According to police and local sources, Ismail, a Saudi expatriate, married Lima Akhtar three years ago. He returned home a week ago. The family slept after having Sunday dinner yesterday. Ismail was sleeping in a separate room with his wife. Ismail talks with his wife about various family matters. It is believed that the accused, Lima Akhtar, killed her husband, Ismail Hussein, herself or with the help of someone, by suffocating him or hitting his head because of that struggle. But the wife, Lima, told her husband’s family that Ismail died naturally.

On Monday (December 23) at noon, while the body was being washed for burial, a black bruise was seen on the neck. If local residents suspect a death, they should inform the police.

“To find out the exact cause of death, the body was recovered and sent to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital morgue for post-mortem,” Begumganj police station officer-in-charge Liton Dewan said. In this incident, the brother of the deceased filed a case at Begumganj police station.
