After 7 hours, ferry operation on Daulatdia-Paturia waterway becomes normal

After being closed for seven hours due to dense fog, ferry movement returned to normal at Daulatdia in Rajbari and Patoria in Manikganj. On Monday (December 23) at around 7am, ferry operations returned to normal after the fog cleared.

Earlier on Sunday evening due to fog, the ferry service on the Daulatdia-Paturia route was disrupted. At around 12 noon, the entire waterway is covered in fog. In order to avoid accidents, the authorities stopped the ferry service. Due to fog, two ferries had to wait at Daulatdia Ghat with loads. As a result, passengers and vehicle drivers must suffer.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Daulatdia Ghat Branch Assistant General Manager Md. Salah El-Din said that after the fog density decreased, the ferry service resumed from seven in the morning. The ferry service has been suspended from 12 midnight to avoid accidents.
