The ‘League Leader’ has bagged the post of Upazila Women’s Party President

A 51-member full committee of Gaibandhar Palashbari upazila branch of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal has been announced. Arjina Parveen Chandni has been given the position of President. But he was previously active in Awami League politics. In addition, the party’s nomination form was collected as a parliamentary candidate for the seat reserved for women.

Not only Chandni, Nashima Begum has also bagged the position of organizing secretary of the committee. However, she was the president of Barisal Union, Tanti Association No. 4 in upazila.

Meanwhile, the committee’s list along with President Arjena Parveen Chandni’s party model collection and photo shoots with senior leaders have gone viral on social media. There is a lot of criticism about this topic.

There are allegations that she got the women’s party post despite being the leader of the Awami League through lobbying and money trading. They were active against the BNP even before 5 August. But the leaders of the women’s party in the region gave them this position knowingly.

On Friday (December 20), the 51-member full committee of the Palashbari Thana Mahila Dal was announced at the party panel signed by the president and general secretary of the Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal Gaibandha district branch.

It was seen in the list that the name of Arjina Parveen Chandni and Nashima Begum at the eighth position as the President of the Women’s Party was at the first position. After this list was published, various discussions and criticisms arose. Meanwhile, many leaders and activists are protesting, posting and commenting on Facebook after seeing the names of Awami League leaders as president and organizing secretary of the women’s party. Some have explicitly commented that this commission was given for money.

In this regard, BNP Chairman of Balashbari Town and BNP Joint Secretary Abul Kalam Azad said that those who were appointed to the Women’s Party Committee of Balashbari worked against the BNP before August 5. Although the two leaders are active in Awami League politics, they were given positions in the party’s women’s committee in exchange for money. He called for the speedy cancellation of the controversial committee and the formation of a transparent and acceptable committee composed of those who had withdrawn.

How can a candidate for Awami League reserved seat who buys the party’s nomination form become Mahila Dal president, said Sagar Sarkar Meenu, chief joint convener of Balashbari Upazila Gobo Dal. The interests and objectives of those who appointed this committee are quite clear. We are Diya Sainik Rajpath address. We will never give way to the ghosts of the Awami League.

In this regard, Arjina Parveen Chandni claimed that there is no doubt about the formation of Awami League, as such images are also present with BNP leaders. My father and family practice BNP politics and are still public representatives. But despite efforts, the statement of Nashima Begum, organizing secretary of the committee, could not be obtained.

At the same time, after the announcement of this committee, and due to various questions from various quarters, the activity of the aforementioned committee was suspended. On Sunday (December 22), the committee’s activities were suspended in a press release signed by the President and Secretary-General of the Women’s Party in the region.

Confirming the matter, Gaibandha District Women’s Party President Shobha Akhtar said that the activities of the Balashbari Thana Women’s Party Committee have been suspended by the party’s decision. We will decide on the committee later.

Meanwhile, not only in Balashbari upazila, but also in the women’s party committee formation in Sadulapur upazila, there were many complaints. Many complained that district-level party leaders receive various benefits including demanding money from local leaders and activists for committee positions.
