Busy winter clothing stores in the capital

As the winter progresses, sales of winter clothing in the capital are increasing. From sidewalks to supermarkets, there is a rush of buyers and sellers from afternoon until night. Sellers hope that if sales continue like this, they will be more profitable than last year.

On Thursday (December 19), several supermarkets including New Market, Bangabazar and Golestan in the capital were seen crowded with buyers buying winter clothes. People of different ages ranging from children to teenagers crowd the market. Some buy for themselves and others for the family. The crowd of buyers is also observed in the wholesale market for winter clothing.

New Market stores have seen a rise in demand for boys’ sweaters, sweaters, shirts and long-sleeved jackets. These clothes are sold at prices starting from 500 to 150-2000 taka. Besides, women’s jackets, jackets and jackets are selling more. These clothes are also available from 500 to 2000.

“Even though winter had started long ago in the capital, there were no buyers at that time,” Akhtar Hossain, a textile trader in New Market, told Bangla Tribune. “Since the beginning of December, the market has had a little more buyers.” Now I feel good pressure from buyers, and sales are going well. If it continues like this, our business will be good this time.

Noorjahan Plaza at New Market, Globe Supermarket, Chandrima Market and Gauchia Market also witnessed a crowd of buyers coming to buy winter clothes. Jassim, a clothing store in Nurjahan Plaza, said that “boys’” clothes are sold in our store. The market has high traffic of university and college students. I sell goods worth Rs 15-20 lakh daily.

Dhaka College students came to buy winter clothes at the new market. “The traders here want more prices for anything. Bargain later. I bought a jacket for Rs 700. This jacket asked me for Rs 2,700,” Saim told Bangla Tribune.

“The new market is good for buying clothes,” said Tamana Rahman, a student at Aden College who came to buy winter clothes. Here you can buy beautiful clothes. I also took the shawl with the jacket. Shawl 500 and hat 750 taka.

Hafeezur Rahman, a clothes seller on Golestan Pier, said: “Good sales have been going on since the beginning of winter. It is crowded from afternoon until 10pm. We sell clothes at low profit. That’s why sales are high. Poor, lower class and middle class all come to shop in our store.

Milan Ahmed, who came from Panchal to buy winter clothes for his family, said the prices are high this time. He said: I came to the shopping center with my family to buy clothes. This time the price is higher than last time. Children are serious about wearing new winter clothes. There is no way not to buy.
