The Anti-Crime Directorates of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested 17 people and seized a quantity of drugs in different areas of the capital. They were arrested during a raid that took place from 6 a.m. on Saturday (December 21) until 6 a.m. on Sunday (December 22).
Muhammad Talibur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Police for DMP Media and Public Relations Branch, provided this information on Sunday (December 22).
He said that these 17 persons were arrested in the regular anti-narcotics operation conducted by the DMP. 4,062 pieces of yaba, 91 poria heroin and 439 grams of ganja were seized.
He also said that 11 cases have been filed against those arrested under the Anti-Narcotics Act at the concerned police stations.
