In front of the capital’s Gulshan-2 DCC market, two people, including the owner of the currency exchange ‘City Mency Exchange’ in Barun Burman market, were allegedly injured and robbed of millions of rupees. This incident happened on Tuesday night (January 21).
The two injured are the owner of the exchange shop. Qadir Shukdar, 35 years old, and his brother-in-law Amir Hamza, 25 years old.
Minto Shikder, the younger brother of the injured person, Qadir Shikder, said that the elder brother was returning to Gulshan-1 house on a motorcycle after closing the business (City Money Exchange) with Amir Hamza. When they went some distance from there, 15 to 20 people stopped their motorcycles in front of DCC Market and first hit them with rods. He later hit his head with a helmet and a brick. At some point they suffered cuts and wounds. Meanwhile, they took the bag containing millions of dollars with them.
Later, after receiving information, they were rescued from there while injured and transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DAMIC) at night. The Inspector-in-Charge of DMK Hospital Police Station confirmed the casualties. Farooq said that he came to DMK Hospital for treatment last night. The matter was reported to the relevant police station.
Kader Shikder is the son of Mustafa Shikder of Khashiyal village in Naragati upazila of Narail district.
Mintu Shikder complained and said that a terrorist named Yasin Shikder and his men kidnapped me 4 months ago. At that time they took 79 thousand. In that incident, the older brother filed suit as plaintiff. Yassin was imprisoned in this case. He was recently released on bail, with the threat of dropping the case.
It is believed that Yassin Shakdar may have done this incident to people.
