Khaled’s mother died on Thursday night. Chittagong Kings management confirmed the news of his death. Posting on Facebook just after 1.30am, they expressed their condolences to the Bangladeshi man, saying: “Our deepest condolences to Khalid who is mourning the loss of his mother.” May God place him in the highest position in Paradise.”

News of Khalid’s mother’s death spread on social media even before Chittagong officially confirmed it. The 32-year-old was still with the team in Chittagong.

Khaled was performing well on the field before receiving this tragic news. He contributed well to the 45-run win over Khulna Tigers at the Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. He took two wickets with 26 runs in four overs. Chittagong registered its fourth consecutive win in the BPL.
