Sanjeeda Akhtar (30) died due to Human Metopic Virus (HMPV) in the country. He died on Wednesday evening (January 15) while receiving treatment at Mohakhali Infectious Disease Hospital.

He said the woman died around 7pm on Wednesday. However, it cannot be said that he died solely due to the HMP virus. He was suffering from other physical complications, which led to a sudden deterioration in his physical condition.
According to the IEDCR, a report of HMPV infection was received on Saturday (January 11). He was infected with HMPV as well as Klebsiella pneumoniae.
The virus was first detected in China at the beginning of this year. It caused great panic. Then the virus was discovered in Japan. This virus has also spread in India.
