Tulip Siddique, a British Labor minister and niece of ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has resigned amid criticism. But after this resignation, the famous American billionaire Elon Musk called him “corrupt.”
Elon Musk commented in a response on his X account (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday evening, local time. “Labor’s child welfare minister protects child abusers, while the anti-corruption minister is corrupt,” Elon wrote in a tweet to Mario Noval.
Tulip Siddique was the Economic Secretary (Economic Secretary) of the British Treasury. He was responsible for achieving transparency in the financial sector and preventing corruption.
After Sheikh Hasina was overthrown in a mass coup in Bangladesh last August, her family and Tulip Siddique were accused of embezzling huge sums of money. In this incident, the demand for Tulip’s removal from his position intensified in political circles in the United Kingdom.
Under pressure, Tulip eventually resigned as UK Town Minister.
Tulip Siddiq’s resignation and the allegations against her have caused a stir in the political arena in the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s statement brought the issue up for further discussion.
Although Tulip Siddiq did not make any official comment on these accusations, political analysts believe that her decision to resign made the situation more complicated.
