Arrest of bringing yaba from Cox’s Bazar to Dhaka and selling it 4

DB Police’s Lalbagh squad arrested four people with 4,000 pieces of yaba tablets brought from Cox’s Bazar to the capital Dhaka. Those arrested are – Tariq Al-Islam aka Rubel aka Farid (40 years old), Maryland. Saddam Hussein (33), Rahidul Islam Hriday (31), Sanjay Chandra Das aka Samir Das (38).

They were arrested on the tarmac road in front of the London Express bus office in Motijheel Arambagh on Saturday morning (December 21). Muhammad Talibur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Information and Public Relations Branch of DMP, provided this information at night.

Sources from the DB-Lalbagh division of the DMP informed that on Saturday morning, it was known through undercover news that some drug dealers from Cox’s Bazar are coming to Dhaka to sell yaba tablets. Based on this information, DB’s Illegal Weapons Recovery, Anti-Drugs and Organized Crime and Auto Theft Prevention Team arrived at the scene and arrested them along with 4,000 pieces of yaba. During this period, 4,000 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from them. Its estimated price is 12 thousand.

During preliminary investigations, they admitted to possessing Yaba tablets. Investigators also said that the detainees had been selling yaba tablets in Dhaka for a long time from Cox’s Bazar using various techniques.

A regular case under the Narcotics Control Act has been registered against the detainees at Motijheel Police Station of the Metropolitan Police Department.
