A clash between two groups from the anti-discrimination student movement and 3 injured

Three people were injured in the clash that took place between the two sides over the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Committee. Later, the injured were transferred to the emergency department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital.

The injured are Nahyan (16 years old), a 10th grade student at Mirpur Manipur School and College, Ronnie (21 years old), and Safran (22 years old), a student at Dhaka Polytechnic.

The incident occurred on Friday (January 10) at 10:30 pm at the Banglamotor Rupayaan Center in the capital at the Central Office of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

This was confirmed by Zahid Ehsan, Secretary of the Office of the Central Committee of the Student Anti-Discrimination Movement. He said, “Some people came to our central office at night and pressured the activists to join the committee. They wanted to join the committee forcefully. But with our ideology, they cannot be accepted into the committee. Later, some of our central leaders and activists got into a fight at some point during their argument.” .

It is known that the Mirpur Committee of the Student Anti-Discrimination Movement was given. There has been a problem with this committee for some time. Some people from the local Chhatra League were aspirants. They were not given positions due to allegations of extortion and cases against them. Those who did not get the position had already announced that they would cause trouble. On this basis, the failure of the deportees to obtain the expected jobs exacerbated the situation on Friday evening. The office of the Student Anti-Discrimination Movement was closed at around 8 a.m. as the controversy and heated situation did not return to normal for some time.
