The Special Cell for the Mass Uprising issued a draft of the first stage of the list of martyrs and wounded in the July and August student uprising. This information was reported in a press release signed by Additional Chief Secretary Khandekar Zahirul Islam, team leader of the cell on Saturday (December 21).
According to the notification, the Department of Health Services, the Directorate of Health, the district committees formed in 64 districts, and the Special Cell for the Mass Uprising are working tirelessly to finalize the list of names of people who participated in the student uprising in the months of July, August and September. They were martyred or injured in an enemy attack. In this context, a draft list for the first stage of compiling the list of martyrs and wounded was published on the website of the popular uprising cell.
She also said that the two draft lists for the first phase will be open to the public until December 23.
In such circumstances, family members/heirs/representatives of the martyrs and wounded are requested to submit comments to verify/correct/finalize the names, addresses and other relevant information of the martyrs and wounded in the two draft lists published. Moreover, if anyone has any opinion/suggestions regarding the published list or has any reasonable information to add/delete, please especially inform them via email to Special Cell Related to Mass Uprising (muspecialcell36@gmail.com) by next 23 December 2024 .
Earlier on Friday, Special Assistant Professor, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to the Chief Advisor. Doctor of Medicine. Saeed Al-Rahman said that a list of martyrs of the July and August uprising will be prepared and sent to the next Council of Ministers. But this list is not the last. Data verification is still ongoing. Later, if we get information about more martyrs, we will include them in the list and send it to the Council of Ministers.
On that day, Khandkar Zahirul Islam, team leader of the special cell related to the mass uprising, said that so far we have obtained confirmed information about 859 martyrs from the Management Information System Section of the Health Directorate. It’s not conclusive though. Work is continuing in this regard.
