3 committees to appoint and transfer senior administrative officials

The government formed three committees to advise on the appointment, transfer, and discipline of senior officials in the public administration, the police, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Cabinet Ministry issued a separate notification in this regard on Wednesday (January 8).

These committees will provide advice on the appointment and transfer of officials from the offices of the three ministries.

General Administration Committee

In the administration, a six-member ‘General Administration Committee’ has been constituted to advise on appointment, transfer and disciplinary matters to Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Joint Secretaries and above.

The committee was chaired by the financial advisor and science and technology advisor, Dr. Saleh Al-Din Ahmed. Electricity and Energy Advisor Fazul Kabir Khan, Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hassan, Cabinet Secretary and Public Administration Secretary have been appointed members of the committee. Committee member, media secretary and radio advisor. Nahid Islam.

The Ministry of Public Administration will provide secretarial support to this committee. This committee can request information from the concerned department if necessary.

Law and Order Affairs Committee

A seven-member “Law and Order Affairs Committee” was formed under the chairmanship of Home Affairs Advisor Jehangir Alam Chowdhury. Legal Adviser Asif Nazrul, Local Government Adviser Asif Mehmood Sajib Bhuiyan, Special Assistant to the Chief Counsel are members of the committee. Khuda Bakhs Chowdhury, Minister of Interior and Inspector General of Police. Maritime Transport Consultant M. Sakhawat Hussain is the secretary of the committee.

According to the notification, this committee will advise on recruitment, transfer and discipline of SP, DIG and senior posts of district police.

The Ministry of Interior will provide secretarial support to this committee. If necessary, the Committee can request information from the relevant department.

Foreign Affairs Committee

This was stated in a separate announcement by the foreign advisor. The Foreign Affairs Committee was formed under the chairmanship of Tawhid Hussain. R

Other members of the committee are Industrial Advisor Adeel Rahman Khan, Senior Advisor to Special Representative for Rohingya and Priority Issues Khalilur Rahman and Foreign Minister.

Advisor attached to the Office of the Chief Advisor. Mahfouz Allam is the secretary of the committee. The Foreign Affairs Committee was established to advise on the appointment, transfer and discipline of the Director-General and other equivalent positions and above in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the notification, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide secretarial support to this committee.
