The July announcement may take some time, and Mahfouz Allam urges patience

Interim government advisor Mahfouz Alam said that the announcement of the July uprising will be prepared after discussion with everyone. He said, “The students’ request was to prepare the advertisement by January 15. This time may be extended a little.” He called on the students to be patient with this.

This was stated in a press conference held at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday (January 9).

Mahfouz Allam said: “The students announced that they would submit a statement. But when the government felt that if the issue was only on the students side, it might harm the stability and unity of Bangladesh. As a result, the government took responsibility for preparing an announcement based on discussions with everyone.

He said: “We hope that the government will talk to all parties to the popular uprising next week about this announcement, and when this announcement is published, the government will take a decision with everyone’s approval.” He also said that discussions would begin with political parties from next week.

In response to a question, Mahfouz Allam said: The students’ demand was to prepare the announcement by January 15. This time may be extended a little. But it won’t be too late. Maybe within a few days of the deadline. We hope in consultation with everyone, if possible by January 15, this can be done. But the government wants to do the work based on the approval of all parties. We believe that students will have this patience and self-control. It would be beneficial for Bangladesh if the declaration was approved by everyone.
