Three cars caught fire in Savar, and 4 people in the ambulance burned to death

An ambulance and two passenger buses caught fire in Savar. Two firefighting units were able to control the fire after an hour of effort. But by then, four people inside the ambulance had burned to death. Among the dead were two men, a woman and a child. At least seven people were injured in the accident.

The fire broke out in the Police Town area on the Dhaka-Arisha Expressway on Wednesday (January 8) around 2:30 am. However, the identity of the deceased was not immediately known.

According to fire service sources, a Dhaka-bound ambulance lost control and crashed into the island in front of Police Town around 2:30 am. At that time, a bus coming from behind collided with the ambulance. At the same time, another bus belonging to Shyamali Paribahan also collided. At this time, the ambulance suddenly caught fire. The fire later spread to the two passenger buses next to it. However, the bus passengers got out safely, while four people were trapped inside the ambulance.

Immediately upon receiving the information, two fire brigades arrived at the scene and the fire was brought under control after an hour of effort. Meanwhile, the burned bodies of four people were recovered from inside the ambulance.

Confirming the matter, Mihr al-Islam, Dar al-Harb inspector of the Savar Fire Service, said: “After receiving the news, two units of the fire service quickly arrived at the site and were able to control the fire after an hour of effort.” At that time, the bus passengers got off safely, but the four people inside the ambulance were burned to death. Their bodies have been recovered.”
