A new virus has spread in China. According to an Indian media report NDTV, a virus called Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) is spreading rapidly in the country. Five years after the death of the deadly Corona virus, the country is once again fearing a new epidemic.

According to him, the number of deaths due to this disease is small. “There is an outbreak of HMPV or Human Metapneumovirus in several countries including China and India in Asia. There may be renewed panic over this issue. Many are thinking about Covid-19,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
Regarding the disease, he said: “HMPV infection causes an illness like a cold or flu. In most cases, fever, cold, cough, sore throat etc. However, severe cough, difficulty breathing, increased breathing rate, pneumonia etc. may occur.” .
“The disease can be severe in children under five years of age and people over 65 years old,” he added. HMPV is a common disease in the United States. Treatment is done according to symptoms. In this case, the number of deaths is negligible.
The health authorities in China said, regarding the newly spread virus, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) confirmed that the northern region of the country is the most affected by this virus. Although HMPV has the ability to infect people of all ages, children become the most common victims.
Despite reports circulating on social media showing the dire nature of the situation, neither the Chinese authorities nor the World Health Organization have yet declared a state of emergency.
