In light of the ongoing political situation that the country is going through, the Communication Committee of the Bangladesh National Party held a meeting with the political parties and alliances participating in the simultaneous movement. Initially, they held meetings with coalitions of 12 parties. However, no political program was determined from this meeting.
The meeting began on Saturday afternoon (December 21) at the BNP president’s political office in Gulshan in the capital.
After the meeting, party alliance president and Jatiya Party chief Mustafa Jamal Haider told reporters that today (Saturday) various issues were discussed at the BNP office. We talked among ourselves about what our program for the future should be, especially in light of the current political situation in the country. But we could not reach any final conclusion.
He said that there is a meeting of the Standing Committee of the BNP and they will reach a decision between tomorrow and the day after. We just talked among ourselves and exchanged points of view.
Mustafa Jamal Haider said that the need for the movement has not ended. I want to say that the 12-party alliance, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and the anti-fascist political forces in the country have been carrying out the movement for a long time – our need for that movement. The goal is not over. It will be deeper in the future. We will present our program before you as happened in the past with the BNP and other political parties.
Earlier, BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan told reporters: “We discussed the current political situation, economic situation, various problems of the people and so on.” We will inform you if any decision is made following this discussion.
BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan chaired the meeting with the joint alliance partners. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Secretary General of the party, was present at that time. The BNP Liaison Committee will then hold a meeting with the Like-Minded Alliance and the Labor Party.
