AZ Alkmaar pulverize Heerenveen in Eredivisie thanks in particular to a quadruple from Troy Parrott

To become runner-up to a PSV Eindhoven that is still unbeatable (5 matches, 5 wins, 20 goals scored, 3 conceded), AZ Alkmaar had to win against Heerenveen this Saturday evening. The game took a while to settle down and the locals returned to the locker room with a narrow lead (2-1).

But it was only after the break that everything really happened and Mickey van der Hart, the visitors’ goalkeeper, turned seven times to pick the ball out of his net. The fury of the Alkmaar players, symbolised by the quadruple of their Irish striker Troy Parrott, captivated the spectators at the AFAS Stadion and the final score was clearly visible on the giant screens in the stadium: 9-1.
