A video of a brave freedom fighter being harassed in Comilla for wearing a shoe pendant has gone viral. After the video went viral on Sunday night (December 22), a storm of condemnation arose on social media. Local police said that work is underway to identify the accused in this incident.

According to several local sources, the name of the brave freedom fighter is Abdul Hai Kanu. He is a resident of Lodiyara village in Batisa union of Chodagram upazila. He was previously involved in Awami League politics.

The video, which is one minute and 46 seconds long, shows some young men and a middle-aged man holding down the brave freedom fighter, Abdulhay Kanu. The brave freedom fighter was wearing a red waistcoat and had a Punjabi shoe necklace around his neck. Meanwhile, someone from the side asks him to get out of the house. Another says to get out of Comilla.

Meanwhile, when the brave freedom fighter Abdulhay Kanu asked him not to leave the house, the middle-aged man said: “We have been able to stay in the house for so many years?” Meanwhile, another person said: Can you ask the entire village about the measurements? At this time, he folded his hands and apologized to everyone. At some point, two men holding both hands led him forward.

According to local sources, the brave fighter Abdul Hai Kanu went out to the market in the morning. At that time, some locals took him in front of Culliara High School. There they put a shoelace around her neck and abused her physically and mentally. Since the incident, the brave freedom fighter who was tortured has covered his head. Those involved in the incident also fled.

Meanwhile, some police teams are said to be active to arrest those involved in the incident. The officer in charge (OC) of Chudagram police station ATM Aktaruzzaman told Bangla Tribune that all those who committed this incident are strangers. The brave fighter Abdul Hai Kanu refuses to provide us with any information about this matter. However, the police went to the scene and discovered that some of the people involved lived in Ghazipur and Dhaka. The police are working to identify them.

In response to a question about whether the defendants were linked to any political party, he said: “I don’t know at the moment.” We are working to identify them.
