Two vehicles collided in Meghna late at night in fog

A head-on collision occurred between two planes from Barisal to Dhaka and from Dhaka to Barisal in Meghnadi. Both boats were damaged and some passengers sustained minor injuries. The accident occurred on the Meghna River in Chandpur on the Dhaka-Barisal waterway around 2:30 am on Saturday.

Barisal BIWTA has issued show-cause notices to four professors for firing in this incident.

Abdul Razzaq, BIWTA port official in Barisal, told Bangla Tribune: “Prince Awlad 10 from Barisal and Kirtankhola 10 from Dhaka left for their destination at around 9pm on Saturday. Two vehicles were caught in the fog in Chandpur. He also said: The launch of Kirtankhola-10 has already reached Dhaka. But Prince Oulad-10 is at the scene. There were about one and a half thousand passengers in this launch. They rescued another launch called Subhraj-10 and left for Barisal around 9:30 am. They are expected to reach Barisal by noon. None of the passengers in the two vehicles were killed in the accident. However, some minor injuries have been reported.

He said that four masters of Kirtankhula-10 and Amir-Ulaad-10 had received a show cause notice in this incident. If no satisfactory response is received within three days, legal action will be taken against them.
