SI Aminul of Natore Sadar Police Station was locked down on Saturday night (January 18) at Natore Policelines. Sadr OC Mahapur Rahman Police Station confirmed the matter.
In the video that went viral, SI Aminul was seen taking money from a customer and keeping it in a drawer. After leaving the room, the customer said he had paid Rs 300 for the tea for police verification. The SI assured him that the job would be completed within seven days.
In response to a question, the service recipient said that even before that, when the police went to his house to check, the policeman had to pay him Tk 1,000.
Sadr Police Station OC Mahapur Rahman said the matter was sad. After learning of the incident, SI was closed to police lines from top to top. He also demanded that the necessary measures be taken against him.
The accused SI did not receive the phone call to inquire about this.
