India participated in the Liberation War to save the Seven Sisters: Sargis – Bangladeshi diplomat

Sargis Alam, chief organizer of the anti-discrimination student movement, commented that India participated in the liberation war not for the sake of the people of Bangladesh, but to protect its seven sisters.

He said this during a roundtable meeting organized at the Polo Ground in Chittagong on Saturday afternoon (January 4).

“Our young generation needs to understand how in 1971 India revealed its latent desire to partition its rival country, Pakistan,” Sargis Alam said. They participated in the liberation war not only for the people of Bangladesh but also to save their seven sisters.

He said that India is trying to present the 1971 Liberation War as its own war. Awami League also proved that India brought independence to Bangladesh during its tenure. India presents the war of independence and liberation in Bangladesh as an Indo-Pakistani war.

Which of the roles played by India in the 1970s onwards were in their interest and which were in ours – we must highlight in our writings, words and thoughts, said this key organizer of the anti-discrimination student movement.

Sargis Alam said that the Awami League has taken India as the president of Bangladesh for the past 16 years. They willingly accepted slavery to secure power.

He said that the Awami League values power more than the country’s sovereignty. They wanted to stay in power at any cost.
