Rangpur beat Metro in the final thanks to the skill of their bowlers

Rangpur has confirmed the final match in the maiden edition of the National Cricket League (NCL) T20. They won by five wickets in the first qualifier against unbeaten Dhaka Metro in the league stage.

Batting earlier, Metro could not capitalize on the Rangpur bowlers. The team scored 24 runs in the opener and lost six wickets for 66 in the 15th over. Abu Haider Ronnie’s cameo innings of 16 runs with 2 sixes off 8 balls took them past the hundred.

Earlier, Imranuzzaman 30 and Aminul Islam Biplab contributed to a 23-run unbeaten run. Metro were halted at 107 runs for 9 wickets mainly due to batting failure.

Rabi Haq took the maximum three wickets for Rangpur. Alauddin Babu got two wickets. Enamul Haq Anam and Arif Ahmed got one each.

Rangpur were also in danger when they reached an easy goal. The team scored 30 runs without a wicket and lost three wickets for 45 runs.

Given the smallness of the target, Rangpur had no problem overcoming this threat. Tanveer Haider was unbeaten in 22 innings to win the team. Ariful Haq also scored an equal number of runs. These two runs are the combined highest for the team.

Rangpur lost 6 wickets and scored 108 runs on the first ball of the over.

Rangpur’s opponent in the final will be the final after the match between Khulna and Metro in the second qualifier.
